It's been awhile since we've written to each other. Perhaps we can do a video chat and just talk? I miss seeing you in the shop. And I miss making your favorite pastry. Tell me is everything all right? Please tell me. Sincerely Avelina.

Gregor smiled as he listened to the audio message that Avelina had sent him, It was always good to hear from her and it brightened his day. He poured himself a mug of ale and sat on his couch and remembered when he first met her. Gregor met Avelina at the Whimsy Tea shop that she and her sister ran on Starbase 308. Over the months he had returned there several times and found that he enjoyed her company. He found Avelina's personality to be pleasant, and found her to be rather intelligent, charming, A wonderful conversationalist, And very easy on the eyes..
Gregor sat at his desk and decided to send Avelina a video message, He sat down and pressed the record button. " My dearest Avelina, I received your message today. I miss seeing your warm smile and I enjoy the time I spend at your tea shop and our conversations. But listening to your message it seemed that I noted a hint of concern in your voice. Yes, everything is going alright here upon the Majestic. We have gotten ourselves a new commanding officer since our Captain has gone on maternity leave, and we've also had a few mission set backs that were disappointing. But that's not what I'd like to talk about at this time. "
He paused as he collected his thoughts for a few moments. " If I recall correctly, The hours of the Whimsy Tea Shop is from 0900 to 1800. I would certainly enjoy chatting with you live, would like to set up a time? Say around 1900 to 2000? Does that work for you? And the next time I'm back at Starbase 308, would you care to join me for dinner at one of the restaurants on the station? Please send me a time that we can get together and talk, I would love to see you again and converse with you, even if it's only via subspace. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours Truly, Gregor. Starbase 308
Avelina squealed as she noticed that she had a return message from Gregor. Immediately sent off another message, this time she made it a video message.
Her red hair glowed from the light she used, wearing green to enhance how she looked.
"Dear Gregor,
I was so delighted in seeing your message. We will definitely need to figure out a time that we can speak with each other. When you get back to the Starbase I would be delighted to join you for dinner. What shift do you work on ... the Merlin. Oh my you are on the Merlin! Have you seen my brother? Do you know him?" her cheeks turn a lovely shade of pink as she gazed towards Gregor. I will confess I do have an image of you, right where I can see you when we exchange messages. Maybe we can converse tomorrow night? The shop will be closed and we can even sort of have dinner together. I know it won't be the same as just being in the same room, but, we can always pretend." giving a winsome smile.

Dear Avelina,
I work the Alpha shift from 0800-1600, That is unless there is some type of emergency or security is needed somewhere on the ship. Would 1930 hrs be a good time to chat? If so I'll be in my quarters at that time and I'll contact you. Wait...Did you say you have a brother working in the crew here on the Merlin? What is his name? If he's anything like you, I'd like to get to know him. I saw the clouds of the most beautiful nebula that I have ever seen, But it's crimson clouds paled in comparison to your lovely tresses. I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow night, until then sweet dreams.

Avelina could feel her cheeks turn warm at his compliment then quickly sent off a message to him.
Dear Gregor,
"1930hrs would work perfectly. And my brother's name is Mathias McPhee. He isn't anyone to forget. He is tall and lanky with red hair as well. He is a friendly sort of man, and I dearly love him. I do hope that you have met him, he is one of a kind. I look forward to tomorrow night. Sweet Dreams as well Gregor."
Avelina closing down her computer, she was going to make certain she looked good for their 'date' via view screen. She squealed at the prospect of it, twirling around in her office chair. Gregor was so good looking and she liked him very much.

After shift Gregor went home and cleaned up in preparation for the evening. He freshly trimmed his beard and mustasche and gave them a thin coat of styling wax. He put on a pair of black slacks and a black satiny button down long sleeve shirt. He looked at the time and quickly replicated a steak dinner with baked potato with sour cream and chives and a side of steamed asparagus. Gregor then got out a silver candle holder with a blue tapered candle and lit it. He then sent the video call to Avelina and waited for her to answer.
Starbase 308
It was time, and Avelina got herself ready. Her makeup was done to accentuate her eyes, and she wore a dark green dress with a Vee neck which showed just a small amount of cleavage. Even though they were in the same room it was something she was wanting to wear and definitely she'd be wearing it when they have their first official face to face date. She got herself a salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a steak medium rare. She had a silver candle holder with a blue tapered candle. She was ready and the appointed time approached. Avelina had even locked her door so she wouldn't be disturbed on her date. Then she answered, and smiled.
"Hello Gregor, I am here. It is good to see you." her eyes sparkling at seeing him so dressed up and looking so handsome. "You look fabulous Gregor."

As Avelina's image appeared on the screen, all he could do for several seconds was stare. " Wow!! " was all he was able to get out and finally snapped out of it a few moments later. " Either I've been on this ship to long or you've gotten more beautiful since I left the station. " Gregor poured himself a glass of ale. " So how has your day been? I know mine just got a lot better just by seeing you, And i am looking forward to returning back to Starbase 308 just to see your smile and have a cup of tea with you. "

A blush from Avelina, "Why thank you for the compliment Gregor. I wish that could be soon." a wistful expression in her eyes. Then she closes her eyes for a moment, "Just imagine if you will, us not being separated by time and space but you and I at that one spot we liked to eat at. Sitting across from each other, gazing into each other's eyes." She opened up her eyes. "With enough imagination we could even remember how it was when we held hands." her green eyes lit up with an inner light of happiness. To her it seemed like what she had described was taking place, she with him, eating dinner together.
Gregor closed his eyes and thought back to the time she had just described and smiled when he opened his eyes again as he saw her lovely face. " I don't have to imagine very hard for such a fond memory, All I know is that ever since I've met you that I've never been happier in my life since we met. " He lifted his glass towards her in salute. " Here's to us and I hope a very happy future together. "
She returned the toast. "Is it too soon to even think of a relationship?" she turned her eyes up towards the ceiling. "Hmnnn.... nah." shaking her head with a laugh. "We can take it slow, I am not worried about that. I don't want you to feel pressured." she reaching out towards him and in some aspect it would be as if she were touching his hand. "I feel lucky that I met you."
Gregor blushed a little bit and shook his head. " I'm sorry, That was my clumsy attempt at saying that I hope things work out for us in the future. I don't want you to feel pressured either, And I agree that slow and easy is the way to go for now. But I can also say that yes we done have a developing relationship, and when I'm feeling down all I have to do is think of you and it brightens my day. I've got one of my female security who has been teasing me as of late, saying that I've changed and she knows I'm in love and wants to know who the girl is. She's like an annoying little sister. " He reached forward to the screen and touched where her fingers were and smiled warmly at her.
"Oh in love are you?" Avelina teasing Gregor a little bit "Who is the lucky girl?" putting her chin in the palm of her hand. "Do tell me more." then gave him a sultry wink.
" Who is the lucky girl? " He asked with a grin. " Tales of her beauty and kind heart have been heard from one end of the federation to the other, Yet the tales do her little justice and don't even come close to the mark. It is also said that she works with her charming sister in a magical tea shop, and where guest can find a measure of comfort and relief. And this fair maiden is named Avelina, And it is she who has captured the interest of my heart. And if I were there I would kiss her hand. " He said with a flourish and a mock bow.
"Avelina? Why that is my name." placing a hand against her heart and slowly fluttered her eyelashes towards him. "I am the one, I am the lucky girl!" kissing her hand and sending a kiss towards him. "I am glad it is me." smiling brightly. "I am looking forward to when I can feel your arms about me once more, and your warm embrace. Just thinking of our last embrace before you went to your next place of work, I remember it well. And your kisses as well." Avelina reaching out towards Gregor, though her hand was stopped by the glass that was part of the viewscreen. "So have you met my brother Mathias?"
" Well I certainly hope it's you. " Said Gregor. " Your the only Avelina I've met in my life, for it is indeed a rare and beautiful Name as is the woman it belongs too. " He smiled warmly. " I wish that I could reach through and gently touch your face and caress your silky hair, Just being with you makes me feel more alive then I've ever been. One day I'd like to walk with you through a field of wild flowers, with the warm sun upon our skin and a gentle breeze blowing through your hair. " He paused for a moment. " And as for your brother Mathias, Yes I do know him. In fact we're friends, but to be honest with you I didn't realize that he was your brother until you mentioned you had a brother aboard the Merlin. In my defense, My mind was distracted by a fair maiden with ruby lips and fiery red hair. " He said with a grin.
Avelina blushed prettily, when she heard his poetic words, then she ate more of her food, "you are so handsome, but it wasn't just the looks that attracted me." she began, looking into his eyes, "Just your manners and you personality. I really don't judge people by their looks, its more on what and who they are here." touching her heart. "I saw that, and I wanted to get to know you more. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can see each other in person once again." a few more bites and her steak was finished. "I am glad you and my brother are friends, that makes me happy. And makes things easier, too."
Gregor looked perplexed for a moment. " easier? How will it make things easier? I just hope Mathias either likes or accepts the fact that I'm involved with his sister. I've seen friendships destroyed over such issues. But I'd take on the galaxy for the woman I love, And that would be you my darling. I won't mince words, you are my hearts desire and I would like to see this relationship grow and mature for as long as it may, and I really hope you feel the same. "
"I do feel the same, Gregor and the reason why I said it is easier is due to well you two are already friends so..." she raises her hands out, "There is no worry about you getting to know each other and the decision of whether he likes you or not . That is a great relief. A lot of a relief." Avelina giving a smile.
Gregor nodded. " Well since you stated it that way, I can understand your concern now. I guess it must have been hard on you not knowing if your brother and I were going to get along with each other, it must be a relief knowing that Mathias and I are good friends and that he trusts me. Of course I'll be talking to him later and I'm going to tell him that we are dating. Of course there'll be a certain amount of apprehension at first when I start talking to him, But I should get a good feel of how he's going to go within the first five minutes of the conversation and I'll be sure to let you know how that worked out between us. " He paused and took a good long look at the screen. " You know I love you, Right? More than anything I just want to make you happy and always see your beautiful smile. "
Avelina smiled, "Yes I do know you love me, and I love you as well. When you get to the SB308, I plan on spending a lot of time with you." she looked at the plate realizing that her food was finished. She was so wrapped up in talking to Gregor and imagining being there with him that she hadn't paid attention to her eating. "Well I guess it is almost time to say goodnight my love. Be safe and dream a little dream of me." sending a kiss towards him. " I love you, I truly do."
" I love you to my darling. I look forward to the next time we come to Starbase 308, you won't be able to get rid of me." He said with a chuckle. " Just dream a little dream of you? Your there every time I close my eyes and in my waking dreams as well. " He glanced down at his empty plate. " Well I guess it's about time for us to go to bed, We both have busy days tomorrow. Good night my Love, I wish I was there to hold you in my arms my beautiful angel. "
One more kiss to her hand and blown to Gregor from Avelina, and she reached forward to turn off the viewscreen. Sometime they will reunite, and Avelina was looking forward to that day.
