Waiting late

Mission: A Cry from the Darkness
Location: Hayley and Sansa's quarters
Timeline: MD1 2330
1385 words - 2.8 OF Standard Post Measure

ON:

Sansa had tried to wait up for Hayley to get home from her shift. After getting back after walking Belle in the arboretum, she had brought her back to their quarters and given her some dinner. Sansa had got undressed and had a quick shower. Afterwards, she simply put on one of her thick dressing gowns and lay down on the sofa, with some soft piano music playing in the background. She had always enjoyed listening to her mom play the piano. Belle had whimpered for a while so she picked her up and the little pup had curled up on Sansa's stomach and fallen asleep. Sansa smiled as she looked down at the little snoring bundle of fur and drifted off to sleep herself.

With the upcoming mission preparation going on, Hayley had been much busier than normal. Even with her more preipheral role in this mission, since the marines were providing the away team support on this run, didn't mean that the security or tactical considerations were completely ignored. There may be call to utilize the ship for medical evacuation or advanced medical support, in which case there would be considerable security challenges to consider. She hadn't intended to be this late and due to her not having lived with someone before, hadn't even given it a real thought until she realised how hungry she was - having forgotten to eat - and realised that Sansa would be at home waiting for her!

So, she'd made it back and entered the room quietly. The lighting had auto-dimmed to a lower level having detected that the sole occupant of the space had fallen asleep. Hayley walked over and looked down at Sansa laying on her back with Belle curled up on her tummy. She smiled a warm smile and padded back across the room to the bedroom to change out of her uniform. She tossed the soiled uniform into the 'fresher and climbed into a pair of fleecy joggers and an oversized t-shirt before going back into the main room and electing to replicate something to eat.

Hearing a noise, Sansa stirred on the sofa. She opened her eyes and stretched slowly, remembering that there was a small dog asleep on her. "Sweetie? Is that you?" she called out softly. The little pup continued to snore.

"No, I'm the Klingon High Chancellor." Hayley said teasingly.

Standing up carefully, not wanting to wake Belle up. She went over and placed the still snoring pup in her own dog bed. She then came back over behind Hayley and wrapped her arms around her. "Hello Sweetie." She kissed her neck softly. "You sit down, how has your day been? Would you like me to get you something to eat?"

Hayley placed her hands over Sansa's that were wrapped around her, leaning back into the embrace. "I'm famished. I forgot to eat again, I was that busy..." She said, her fatigue clearly showing. "Not enough hours in the day, there really aren't..."

Sansa enjoyed the embrace for a moment longer and after a quick neck nuzzle, took Hayley by the hand and led her over to the sofa "You sit right here Sweetie and you can tell me all about your day while I get you something to eat. What would you like?"

"A bowl of Ramen with a rice omelet on the side..." Hayley said as she was basically forced to sit down. "I saw it on one of my old Japanese anime programs, tried it, fell in love with it. You should try it, it's apparently classic Japanese cuisine."

Sansa frowned "Well it does sound nice, I'm not really in the mood for rice right now sweetie." She went over to the replicator "One bowl of Ramen with a rice omelet on the side and one quarter pounder cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato please." she looked back to Hayley innocently as the replicator hummed "What? I fancied a burger." She picked up the food then added "One cup of tea with milk and... What do you want to drink sweetie?"

"I'll have a cola, with ice." Hayley replied.

Sansa brought their food over then went back to retrieve their drinks. She finally sat down next to Hayley, giving her space so she could enjoy her food. "So.... How's your day gone?" she asked with interest as she took a bite from her burger.

"Busy." Hayley said, picking up her chopsticks and tucking into the Ramen. "Although, I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that I won't be on the away mission that's coming up. The marines are going down to support the XO and his team, so I'm staying up here. Little unusual, but not overly so. Marines are trained for humanitarian support and may be needed for crowd control. I'm prepping for potential colonists being brought up to the ship, setting up triage areas, quarantine zones, stuff like that."

Sansa frowned for a moment. "I heard mom say something about a distress call over the Comm system this morning," Sansa said as she finished off her burger. "From Ceti Beta 4 was it? What's going on? Are they under attack? If so, you're right. I don't want you going anywhere." She said firmly as she snuggled closer to Hayley.

Putting her arm around Sansa to draw her close to her, Hayley caressed Sansa's arm gently. "Nothing like that. In fact, we really don't know an awful lot at all. The distress call was incredibly vague and no one can reach them to confirm anything. All we know is that there is some kind of infectious disease down there that has very rapidly taken hold and is doing something nasty down there. It'll be a full EV suit away-team, so I'm quite glad I'm not going. I hate those damn things."

Sansa let out a sigh of relief. "Well in that case I'm really glad you're not going down there. I don't want you anywhere near infections diseases." She sat up straight and looked at her concerned. "Mom's not going down there is she? I know she always likes to be in the middle of the action."

"No, your mother's tasked Commander Rejal with command of the away mission." Hayley said. "And once we'd picked him up off the floor, he was quite relieved he didn't have to have that argument with her. I suspect she appreciated that pregnant Captains probably shouldn't be put into harms way. I imagine your father might have had a few things to say if she had - rank be damned."

Sansa snuggled back up to Hayley but still frowned slightly "That's not like her. She's normally wanting to be the first one on the shuttle.... Just be sure it's not a bait and switch... her lulling you into a false sense of security." She thought for a moment then added. "Nah, that's too complex. Anyway, we had a fun day too. Belle and I played here for a while and I took her to the Arboretum. Belle really likes it there with all the grass and the trees. I also saw Breana. She's also got a new puppy."

"Ah, so you can be puppy-pals then eh?" Hayley asked. "That's so adorable. Both you and the puppy..."

Sansa then stood up and headed for the bedroom. "Are you coming to bed?"

Standing up, Hayley quickly moved behind Sansa and lifted her up in a princess-carry. "Oh, I am most certainly going to bed, but alas for you my dear... sleep is the last thing on my mind..." She cackled sinisterly as she leaned in and blew raspberries on Sansa's stomach playfully.

Sansa looked at her with a devilish smile. "That's good..." she said as she untied the fasting of her dressing gown and let it fall open revealing nothing on underneath. "As I'm not tired either." She purred with a voice like silk.

Admiring the naked beauty before her, Hayley didn't need any further cues as she carried Sansa into the bedroom, pausing only to close the door so as not to disturb poor Belle... as the sounds of moaning and screaming began in earnest...
