Melody and Draxx had finished at Starfleet Command. The debriefings had been a big success and now they were looking forward to some time together with Draxx's family. The transport to Italy would be leaving soon. With the time difference, they should just be in time for the evening meal.

Draxx, ever the gentleman, was carrying Melody's bag for her as they headed for the transport terminal When a voice called out from behind them. It was Admiral Hollins.

"Ahhh, good. I wanted to catch you before you left." She said and she came up to them. "I know you're looking forward to your free time so I won't keep you very long. There is just one thing before you go, Commander."

Melody raised an eyebrow and cast a side glance at Draxx. "Really?"

"I wanted to say congratulations...."

Melody cut her off, surprised. "You heard about the twins?"


This stopped the Admiral in her tracks. She looked more surprised than Melody. "What? No. You're expecting twins? Well Congratulations on that as well." She came to attention. "Commander Melody Jones, in recognition of all your hard work and dedication in the finest tradition of Starfleet, I hereby promote you to the rank of Captain with all the right and privileges of that rank."

She fixed a fourth pip to Melody's collar and shook her hand. "Congratulations."

All Melody could do was smile and say "Thank you, Admiral."

I know there's usually more pomp and circumstance but I figured that you want to get on with your vacation. She then offered her hand to Draxx "And congratulations to you too."

Draxx straightened up a little higher, proud of his wife. "Thank you," he took the hand and shook it firmly.

"Well I'll let you get going, you don't want to miss the transport. I'll see you later Captain, Lieutenant." And the Admiral turned and headed back to Starfleet Command.

Melody turned and embraced Draxx. "This is wonderful. Fay has been transferred in a new host, we're having twins and now this. Come one, we've got a lot to tell your family now.

"Yes Roger and his wife are going to be very happy for us. They prepared some rooms so we don't have to rush and there's one for Sansa and Hayley. I called ahead and made him aware of that development."
