Fox entered the shuttle bay and paused. At this time in the morning, it was deserted. She quickly boarded a small two-person shuttlepod and initiated the launch sequence. The shuttle bay doors started to open.


Fox smiled to herself as the shuttle exited the bay. The subroutines she had left in the computer would play hell with the targeting scanners. "They'll be lucky to hit water if they fell in the sea." She chuckled to herself.

Jonathan in the middle of his chat with Tia ordered general quarters and security to check on Ensign Syvar, the XO and Lieutenant Datari. "Open channel. Fake Fox, you manipulated things to shoot my son. I will find you. I will not forget this, its far for over. Bridge, Reynolds here lock phasers and fire to disable any shuttles that might attempt to leave the ship."

"Ensign," Jon said to Gwen now in the room where they were questioning Tia. "Find that woman. Shes too dangerous if she makes it to the Cetea again."

"Yes Sir." Gwen was about to say something but her combadge sounded. She tapped it, "Chief here."

"Chief, Security just reported that a shuttle left the hangar."

Gwen look to the others in the room with her, "Hold on." She tapped the badge and put the call on hold, "Sir, we didn't pick that up,did we?"

"No ones notified me Ensign, I was operating on a hunch when I ordered them to lock phasers but that mirror version of Fox is very clever and tricky. If she knows a way to fool our equipment she will use it," Jon suggested.

One of the programs Fox had left in the main computer completely scrambled the targeting sensors. The phasers lanced out in a completely random vector, striking the shields of the USS Merlin in the process.

"So we can't rely on our equipment." Gwen took a moment, "Sir, we need to launch our own shuttle to go after her. The shuttles sensors will still be working and could act as our eyes."

"I'm not sure we have time for that Ensign. Get a tractor beam on it," Jon ordered.

"Sir, I highly doubt we'll be able to. She would have thought about disabling that before leaving." Gwen responded, "We really need to think outside the box on this one."

USS Merlin Bridge:

The ship rocked slightly and the ensign at tactile reported. "Sir! The Andromeda just hit us with phaser fire!"

Melody turned from the Captain's Chair. "What?!" She asked in disbelief. "Open a channel!"

=/\= Andromeda, this is the Merlin. Something wrong with your phaser banks over there?=/\=

=^= Seems a Fox has been savaging the hen house Captain Jones. Our targeting sensor are completely out of alignment. Any chance you can intercept that shuttle?"=/\=

=/\=Acknowledged Andromeda. We’re moving to intercept.=/\=

Melody was just about to give the order to the helm when suddenly the view screen lit up as the shuttle exploded in an impressive fireball leaving nothing but dust. She turned to the tactical officer “What the hell happened?”

“The shuttles impulse engines overloaded! From these readings, It appears like the pilot did it on purpose.” The shocked ensign replied. “I’m not reading any life signs.”

Melody looked back to the viewscreen. =/\= Merlin to Andromeda. It looks like the pilot had other ideas about being captured. They overloaded the shuttles engines. We’ll make a high-resolution sensor seep of the debris but it looks like they didn’t survive. You seemed pretty intent on catching them. Was the pilot who I think it was?” Melody asked, going off Jons cryptic remark and her previous conversation with him about an imposter.=/\=

=^=Unfortunately Captain. Shes shot several people and my sons been injured. I intend to get to the bottom of how this has all happened.=^=

Melody nodded =/\=Understood Andromeda. We'll send you a copy of our sensor logs. Merlin out. =/\=

She sat back down and wondered if that would really be the end of The mirror Fox.
