Major Richard Johnson, callsign Wolf, sat at the auxiliary station at the back of the shuttle cockpit with his hands behind his head and fingers interlaced as he read over his new assignment. He had been on Merlin a few times as a TAD, temporary assigned duty, filling in as both a counselor and in strat ops. However, now he had the opportunity to serve on her permanently, something he had been looking forward to. The Major had been serving at Marine command as a counselor, evaluating recruits in boot camp when he learned of Merlins opening in their Knights company. It had taken some doing, however, Wolf had convinced both Marine and Starfleet commands to let him take the billet of company commander.

So, now, here he was. The Marine smiled and stood up, walking over to the helm and sitting down. He checked over the controls before moving his finger over the warp control button, "here we go," he said to himself as he pressed the yellow orange button, causing the streaking red and white stars to turn back into pinpoint lights surrounding a silhouetted and glistening grey space station.

Johnson reached for a blue button at the top of the console and took a breath, "shuttle Aurora requesting docking clearance to drop off new crew to USS Merlin...."
