Prepping the Science Department

Posted on Tuesday 10 May 2016 @ 17:35 by Commander Cale Llewellyn DSci

Mission: Old, New Ship
Location: Holo-Research Lab, Deck 5
Timeline: 23930510.635
287 words - 0.6 OF Standard Post Measure

Lieutenant Cale Llewllyn was in the holo-research lab next to his office working on the sensors. He was testing the resolution as well as the accuracy . He was pleased with both aspects of the functionality of the sensors. The resolution was near 100% while the accuracy was still at 81%, well within Starfleet parameters. But nowhere within his parameters. He was not pleased with the accuracy of the aft sensor pallet. He made a note of it on the PaDD he was carrying to let the Chief Engineer know.

He then started testing the lateral sensor array. He tested the same aspects of the lateral array as the aft one. This array was operating at 97% efficiency. That fell well within his standards so he was happy with this sensor array. Next came the forward sensor array. After running a diagnostic on it, he discovered the main sensors were not operating at anything near peak efficiency. In fact they weren't running at only 15%. He couldn't figure out how this ship was ready for flight with this egregious an error. He made this notation on his PaDD for the engineering team to work on. This would no doubt keep them busy for days, at least. Which meant he himself would be busy right along beside them.

With this being a fact of his life for the time being, he was glad to have gotten minor in engineering. So basically he was capable of overseeing these repairs himself. Despite this fact, he knew it would behoove him to let the chief engineer know about the issues beforehand and that is just what he would do. Tapping his combadge, he said, "Lieutenant Llewellyn to Engineering."

And he was pleased with himself once more.
