ON:

The Risan sun was setting in beautiful hues of orange, gold and brown. It was starting to get a little chillier so Caroline had pulled on a dress covering up her bikini. She was due to meet some friends in a bar and possibly dancing.

“Hey blondie,” she was met with walking. “I took the liberty,” he grinned pushing a Sumerian sunset her way.

“Eidos,” she smiled and sat down next to the Betazed.

“You look stunning.” He told her.

She felt herself flush unable to stop a girly grin forming.

“When are you two going to get together,” laughed Bok walking past them. “If you keep dancing around this goddess Ei I’m going to swoop in.”

There was something so familiar about all this, Caroline thought getting a sense of de je vu.

Eidos was laughing at the Ferengi as she sipped her cocktail.

“Talking of dancing,” he put his hand out to her, “Is you card free?”

“For you always,” she smiled. Standing up she let him lead her onto the dancefloor and pull her close. Her heart was better and she remembered he was Betazoid and tried to reign in her thoughts. She knew he would never go probing but stray thoughts she couldn’t stop him being bombarded with.

“Photo? Souvenir?”

“In that dress you can’t say no,” he smiled.

“You charmer,” the blond giggled.

The Risan took the photo, them posing with their arms round each other and then as he walked off to Carolines surprise he dipped her.

“How about it?”

“About what,” she said breathlessly off balance and half way down towards the floor. His strong hands held her steady though.

“Us getting together. Boks right we keep dancing round each other,” he said.

“I have to …. “ she started. “Surgical exams. Placement.”

“And …”

“Long distance is hard …..”

It was. She had tried it before. It wasn’t fair to him.

“I don’t care,” he told her. "We like each other, it could be so much more. More special."

“And what about Serah? That girl you have had a few dates with?” She wanted to be fair to him.

“She’s not you,”

It was like time froze for a moment. Her heart beating faster. She had been in this moment.

He moved his face in closer still holding her above the floor. Something felt off but so right and she found herself closing the distance.

“We will make it work,” he said releasing her lips and nudging their noses together.
