First Day Nerves ?

OK, in my office looking over the day's requirements. Lysia has as always covered everything and has asked about Lana and the girls ...

I'm not too sure who had the worse 'first day nerves' when we were going to the school. Lana seemed as calm as a pond with no wind brushing the waters' surface, while Mackenzie and Mia were running ahead, almost hopping from foot to foot waiting the ten seconds for the turbo-lift to arrive. meanwhile, i was the proverbial 'bag of nerves' ... I have no idea why I was worried to be honest, Lana is an exceptional teacher, and both our girls love the school environment, and have an uncanny knack, reserved for children, of being able to make friends easily.

Having gone through breakfast I realised on our way that I seemed to be the only one worried, again with no idea why. but they are in school now, and hopefully all will go well.

Lana had spoken to her two teachers about having a half-day today, basically to allow everyone to find their feet, the children to decide where they were sitting (apparently very important to those at school) and for all the teachers to meet the parents for the first time as a group. Lana had spoken to each in turn on a 'one to one' basis, but this would allow all of them to get together since individual schooling was finished.

Current :

While Lysia was coping with running Operations, and I felt like the proverbial spare wheel, I decided to leave her to it and go back to our quarters, while not an 'official' celebration, I wanted to have a few things ready to commemorate the first day. While preparing everything, I had a message from the Ships Councillor, who was meeting all the crew in turn. I decided to invite Major Johnson over to meet my Family in a relaxed social setting, of course, if the Councillor was compiling official reports he would no doubt require me to attend his office, if that is the case then a social meeting can be rearranged I'm sure.

OK, back to preparing the cakes .....
