Melody walked onto the bridge and sat down in the Captains's Chair. "All hands Departure stations!"

She turned to tactical "Get me the dockmaster."

Marbim looks up as the Captain enters the bridge. Nodding at her, he returns to his console, ensuring that his section is prepped and ready for departure.

"Aye Captain." Hayley replied, moving her fingers deftly over the LCARS console. She brought up the communications protocols and established a link with the dockmasters control booth. "Channel open."

Rionuj was standing near the tactical console observing the chief of security making contact with the dockmaster. He was impressed with the layout of controls on the console.

Melody spoke "Control. This is the Merlin. Requesting permission to depart."

A male voice replied "Permission to depart granted Merlin. Safe journeys. 30 seconds for main space doors."

"Acknowledged Control. Merlin out." Melody looked at the helm "Clear all moorings. Thrusters at station keeping. Awaiting space doors from this mark."

"Aye Aye, sir, thrusters at station keeping... moorings clearing now." Sav replied.

Melody turned slightly to Rejal "Ready to get back out there Number One?"

With one of his famous grins, and a warm look at Commander Tillatix, "While Risa was fun, the exciting part of our jobs exists 'out there', so yes, I'm ready..."

The Andorian was excited, his antennae were twitching.

Melody took a quick look around the faces of the other bridge officers and smiled. "Let's not keep everyone waiting then Eh, Number one? Helm! After thrusters ahead slow. When we've cleared spacedock lay in a course for sector 715." She pressed the comm button on her armrest "Engineering, we'll be going to warp speed."

Sav churred as she immersed herself into Merlin. This is where she loved being, joined with a flying companion and cruising the stars. She responded, "Thrusters ahead at quarter speed, sir."

"Aye Commander, she's ready to roll." While everything had so far been going almost smoothly since the repairs had been done, Breanna knew that there was still a chance something could go wrong once they really started putting the ship though her paces. Smiling though as she kept watch on the computers and listened to the chatter around her, she was clearly happy with her place and the way things had changed for her. Of course she couldn't help but to jot a couple things down on a PaDD every so often as she thought of something else that should likely be checked on this outing also.

Zim walked on the bridge with a little bit more bounce in his step. He had been resting on his laurels for way too long. For Harris and his people staying put was just not in their nature. He nodded hello to a few officers as he arrived. Happily he took his station and reported in. "All departments and all decks report ready and at station keeping..." His voice trailed off as he was about to add sir. Then realized it was not Barstow in the center chair, it was Melody and he was happy to see that the fleet gave her the command. "...Ma'am."

Caroline walked in, nodding to her fellow companions as she made her way to the chair on the left of the Captain. "Maam," she said to Melody. It was strange to think Bairstow was completely gone and Melody stepping up. So much change. Her eyes landed on the shiny new wedding band on her CO's finger. Things were definitely changing.

Watching the view screen, Marbim mutters something in Klingon, it might be something from an opera, or something else, but his face is aglow as the Merlin begins moving ... of course he’s also watching Commander Tillatix too

Rio moved from stalking Lieutenant Godding to the starboard-side auxiliary station that was just past the stairs to the command pit yet attached to the railing like the primary tactical station was. Rio made sure to turn the station into a dedicated strat-ops/tactical console. He began running scans of the immediate area around the Merlin using the lateral sensors.

The great ship moved out though the space doors and into the great vast emptiness of free space.

Sav waited for the telltales on the console to show the immense vessel that was the Merlin was out and past the space dock doors. She called out, "We are clear of the Space Dock doors, course is laid in, and awaiting your command, Sir."

Melody raised her hand "Helm! Warp five.." and with a flourish "Engage!"

The Merlin lept into warp speed.

Sav churred as she activated the warp drive and the vessel began it's run up to speed. She called out, "Warp 1... Warp 2.. Warp 3.. Warp 4.. and... Warp 5, sir. All telltales showing green." Her tail flounced a little here and there, and if anybody was to look at her face, they would notice her eyes are closed while a large grin was upon her short muzzle, yet her right hand kept pushing controls while some activated on their own, her left hand consistently touching the underneath of the console.

Looking over at his board Marbim will offer, "Nothing's amiss yet, my boards are green. If I may, I'll head back down to Ops and stop in Engineering to see how they are doing..."

Melody smiled. "Very good Number One, Carry on. Our Chief engineer is compiling a list of things she wants us to check en route to sector 715."

Sav did a light churr with a tail Shake to let Miles know she was thinking of him. The shore leave had let them set up some boundaries and explore a little more of what it meant to be a couple, with a mix of Cardassian and Mephetian dating etiquette.

Having seen Sav's tail shake, there seems to be a spring in Miles's step as he heads for the turbolift. Once inside he begins humming to himself.

Next, Sav thought about not seeing anybody on the roster for a go at the helm, and as this was an 'easy' leg of the journey, she asked, "Captain, Helm, we are on easy running. Has anybody approached you for some helm experience? Now would be a great time to ease into it."

"Nobody has come to me as of yet, but I'll pass the word around Commander. Sounds like a good idea."

"What about me?" Caroline asked. "I can fly a shuttle but have never had a chance to …." she looked over at the helm console. "More strings to your bow ehh?" There was something exciting about the idea of getting to fly the ship.

Melody gestured "By all means. I'm sure Commander Tillatix will make sure you don't get us too far of course." She said with a grin. "Just don't spill my coffee, ok?"

Sav churred gently as she stood up to make room for Caroline. She figured that Caroline probably knew the basics and would settle right in. She would stand by for any just in case scenario, but, as of right now, Caroline was the Helm Officer.

"I can't make any promises Captain but I can try," Caroline said getting up and taking the helm seat. "Maintaining course and speed."

Sav crouched down by the console to get into a relaxed comfortable poise that tree dwelling races were built for, crouching on a limb for hours. She smiled over to Caroline and whispered, "Anything yah need, just say, Commander Miller."

Melody looked around at the crew falling back into the normal routine with ease and thought to herself here we go again.
