Freaking out

"You know that stuff you drink that really burns," Caroline said as Melody's door opened and the red head gave her admittance. "I am going to need some. A lot. Enough to numb me. I really really really do not like temporal anomaly's or paradox's or whatever the correct term is for what looks to be about to happen."

Melody was already reaching for the Aldeberan whisky and two glasses. She placed the glasses down and started to pour.

She was white and her hands were shaking.

Caroline reached forward noticing Melody's hands and grabbed the bottle out of her hands before most of the whisky ended up overflowing on the table and down on the floor. "Let me do that," she said softly. Her own anxiety about what was happening started to take second place as her doctor persona kicked in. She was white.

"Your in shock Melody, what happened?" she asked placing the bottle back on the table and steering her to sit down.

Melody sat and promptly emptied her glass, throwing it back in a single draft. She then went onto tell Caroline how she had come back to her quaters to find herself standing there and how this vision of herself had tried to warn her that they had not much time, before disappearing.

As she talked Melody re-filled her glass from the bottle on the table and when she had finished she took another big gulp.

She had managed to stop her hands shaking by now. She looked at Caroline, who she could tell was also out of sorts "So whats your reason for needing some fortification?"

"Whatever's going to happen, we really don't have a lot of time. One of the bodies - Roz ..... well the examination showed she was 3 months pregnant and crushed at the point of death. Her body was found in sickbay. She came in today and examination showed she's 3 months pregnant. I have never been so terrified. What if what was meant to happen had happened earlier?" Caroline said.

Melody took another drink "Well it seems I wasn't lying when I told me I'm running out of time. It's just a shame I got cut off before i could tell me how to save the ship."

She looked at Caroline and sighed "Something tells me that whatever is meant to happen is going to happen no matter what we do. The evidence suggest its going to happen suddenly, with out warning. The ship is going to end up in the past somehow with the crew still onboard. The ship becomes uninhabitable and the crew aboandon her, apparently setting the autodestruct sequence before doing so. The sudden loss of power onboard caused an interruption in the autodestruct sequence which resumed when the engineering team restored power to the computer. We don't know what happened to the reat of the crew, how the ship ended up in the past or exactly when its going to happen."

Melody drained her glass again and re filled it. "If we're going to be damned, lets be damned for what we really are. We're going to carry on as normal and what ever happened will happen. We're just going to have to be smarter this time around. Also it reminds us to make sure we make each moment count. I'm sorry for going on....... Maybe i just needed someone to talk to. Thanks for listening"

"Its okay. What are friends for?" she said simply. "Here give me a another glass of that. We will just face it head on like everything else I guess." They clinked glasses.
