Mission: The New Collective
Timeline: After "Trying to get inside the monsters head"
801 words - 1.6 OF Standard Post Measure

After assuring Caroline she would wait to see the doctor, Breana sighed softly as she waited for the doctor. Fingers flexing a little absentmindedly as she sat there and relaxed a bit, while she understood why they had pushed for her to come see the doctor that didn't mean she was thrilled about it. Waiting, her mind drifted to the experiment they had just preferred on the the holodeck with the puppet Master although as she thought of that, she remembered the twitching she'd seen in Carloline's face at times. A slight frown crossed her features as she pondered that, she hadn't wanted to bring it up in there, she couldn't help but to wonder about asking her about it later. A soft "hmmm" slipped from her as she pondered everything.

Michael had been so busy tending to patients since coming aboard the Merlin that he had not been in his office too long. He also forgot what his quarters and the inside of his eyelids looked like. So here was another patient burns to the hands. He walked out into the general treatment area. "Ensign let's have a look at those hands. While I do that you can tell me how this happened."

Holding out her hands, she glanced to the burns on her palms a moment, she gave an absentminded shrug. "I was working on a computer terminal and when to make a change in the program. It didn't like it and decided to bite me?" Bree said with a little smile and shrug. Clearly not likely to make a big deal out of things like this.

"That is nothing that the dermal regenerator can't fix." Michael replied as he retrieved the tool in question. "So do programs usually jump up and bite you?"

"Thankfully no, of course I usually don't threaten to turn them into eels either." Bree said with a soft chuckle as she held her hands steady for the doctor to work on them, it hadn't been her first time getting her hands fixed... and likely wouldn't be her last.

"You know I could never decide if Engineers had a death wish or simply thought they were gods. They constantly put their hands in places that could kill or seriously hurt them. I mean how about we turn the power off before we play with that coupling. Pah, what do I know I am just a doctor." Michael rattled off, it was true engineers constantly pushed the limits to get the ship moving faster, or more efficiently. It made no sense.

"Maybe we just like pain?" Bree said with a wicked little grin. "Think about it like this Doc. We're in the middle of a battle and something goes wrong. Is the Captain really going to be please if we say... Hold on Captain, we have to shut down the power to fix it... hopefully we won't get killed in the process." Brown eyes sparkled with a hint of playfulness.

Michael smirked. "Here is a novel idea, let's not get in a fight to begin with. Then the ship won't break, then you won't have to do anything. It is like the old joke. A man goes to see the doctor and says Doctor it hurts when I do this. To which the doctor replies then don't do that."

"You know, if we could keep from getting into fights or danger... that would be great. But that just doesn't seem to happen. Starfleet seems to like to find themselves in danger." Bree said with a little shrug as she watched the doctor work on her hands.

Michael finished with the dermal regenerator. Her hands looked as good as new. "There Ensign all done. However, they will be a little tender for the next day or so. They will also have a slight discoloration as the melanin asserts itself. But other than that you will be fine." He paused as he thought about her last comment. "You know you are right, perhaps those fat a$@es in charge should do something about that." He stated matter of factly.

"I'll try and take it easy with them for a couple days." Breana said with a smile. "But I suppose I should let you get to more work Doc. And you can tell the higher up's to do something about all this fighting stuff."

"You do that Ensign and I will see what I can do as well." Michael said with a smirk.

"Have a good day Doctor." Breana replied with a smile as she headed out to make her way off to enjoy the rest of her day.
