ON:

Having recently having to deal with Starfleet's judicial system, Caleb was reluctant to put anyone through the same crucible that he'd gone through. Technically, of course, this wasn't a judicial matter. It wasn't even an informal hearing, it was just an inquiry to determine if the Executive Officer need some professional help, needed to go through a court martial, or just to be left alone.

Normally, when meeting with patients, he'd dress as informally as possible. but Commander Llewellyn was a superior officer, so he was dressed in a freshly replicated uniform. He was willing to give the Commander the benefit of the doubt, but he would have no problem in recommending severe consequences if they were warranted.

He was a few minutes early and was waiting outside the Executive Officer's cabin, waiting for Major Johnson to show up before he pressed the chime to the entrance.

Cale was seated in his quarters after a very trying day. He had already called Nurse T'Lar to come by at her earliest convenience. He was feeling the need for another mind meld session. He needed the feel of control when he was in the 'thrall' of the mind meld. Or maybe it was the intimate nature of the act itself; despite the fact that it was with a female, he enjoyed the act. Though he would never admit to it, he felt that T'Lar already knew.

Cale rose, padded to the replicator and ordered himself a french vanilla hot chocolate. He then turned and made his to his bathroom and ordered his sonic shower to the hot water setting and disrobed and climbed under the hot stream. Running his hands through his hair, he breathed a heavy sigh of relief as the almost scalding water ran down his well-muscled body. Cale ran his hands over his chest and abdomen and relished in the feeling of his muscularity.

Just then the door chime sounded...

Caleb let out a slow breath, straightening his uniform jacket as he did so. He wasn't sure where his shadow, the Major, was but he was pretty sure he could handle things on his own if the XO would just open the door.

Cale stepped out of the shower, grabbed a towel and made his way to the door. Saying "Enter," Cale first saw this new crew-member and was stunned by the sheer handsomeness of him. He then blushed at that thought. Cale walked over to him and introduced himself. "I'm Lieutenant Commander Cale Llewellyn, Executive Officer and you are?"

The counselor knew this was supposed to be a professional meeting, an evaluation, but he couldn't help letting his eyes drift over Cale's taut body. He tried not to let his glance become a stare and he forced his eyes up to study the other man's face. His exotic look was definitely easy on the eyes. "I'm Caleb Mitchell," he said as smoothly as possible. "I'm the new ship's counselor, and I'm here to talk about the incident yesterday. Do you have a moment?"

'I have more than that for you," and the minute he heard the words he knew he said them aloud and blushed even more. "I'm so sorry for that, it just slipped out, Counselor. Yes, I have time to discuss the 'incident'." Cale said as he sat down and gestured for the counselor to do the same.

Caleb couldn't help but notice the other officer's blush, which was a good thing for it kept his focus on the man's face and not what was underneath the towel. Taking a seat he said, "I appreciate the time, and there's no need to apologize. Would you mind doing me a favor, though, and put something else on? It's, uh distracting to see you like this."

"OH! I'm terribly sorry!" Cale jumped up and ran into his bedroom and changed into a uniform and came out again. "Is this better, Counselor?"

"It is certainly less tempting anyway, "Mitchell responded. Then after clearing his throat he said,"Why don't we start by having you give me your account of what happened."

Wolf was in his office watching the security feed from the Commander's quarters. The Marine had waited until Mitchell had arrived before accessing the feed. Richard hadn't told Caleb, instead deciding not just to watch Llewellyn, but also Caleb. The idea was to let the counselor start taking the lead without Wolf there. That, the Major hoped, would allow Cale to open up without feeling like the Marine having been sicker on him. Now, though, Wolf was watching the interaction between the two with interest.

"Well, it all started when I was catching up with Mel...errr Lieutenant Jones. She told me of something that happened between her and Lieutenant Tillatix. I had no idea that Sav didn't have any recollection of the incident. So when I pressed the issue she got defensive and I must admit I got a tad perturbed with her. Counselor, I am going to tell you something only a handful of people on the ship know; I'm a developing empath. My powers are a little out of control right now and I am meeting with Ensign T'Lar from Sickbay for mind-meld sessions and she is teaching me control but I'm not a very good student yet," Cale said ready to burst into tears.

Caleb, who was no means an empath, developing or otherwise, could read body language quite well, and he was pretty good at detecting when someone was lying to him. He reached out a hand and put it on the Executive Officer's shoulder. "Just calm down," he said,"everything is going to be just fine."

"I never meant to hurt or assault anyone. I've just been an emotional basket case for a while."

The counselor slowly pulled his hand away. "I'm thinking this might me a misunderstanding, miscommunication, perhaps an apology and a mediation meeting between you and Sel would solve that issue, but it doesn't solve your having emotional issues. Do you think you're under too much pressure as the second in command on the ship?"

"No, I love being Exec, love being Captain Barstow's Exec. My job gives me strength. I just need a tad more communication between some of the officers and myself," Cale said starting to feel more himself. "What are they going to do with me?"

"I don't know, Mitchell replied, "it's not my call. But I'm going to recommend that we sit down with the Captain and Sav, and see if we can work this all out."

"Thank you, Counselor. I appreciate anything you could do," Cale said sufficiently placated.

"Now that our official meeting is done, can I ask you a personal question, would you like to go get something to eat."

Cale looked up startled and said, "I thought you'd never ask."

The Counselor smiled widely. "Well, I'm going to go change out of my uniform, do you want to follow me to my cabin, or should we meet someplace?"

"I'll follow you to your cabin, Counselor," Cale said with a huge smile on his face.

Unaware that he was being observed, Caleb returned the smile which slowly morphed into a smirk.
