Lieutenant David Scarlet.

I just had to comfort Crewman Aumento. She is very upset over this situation with Lieutenant Tillatix. Apparently, Tillatix has taken it upon herself to place 'claw blockers' onto herself and then gave Crewman Aumento the keys to pass along to me.

There are two things that bother me about this. Crewman Aumento is getting too emotionally attached and involved with Lieutenant Tillatix, it may be time to reassign her to someone else for her OJT and get someone else to shadow Tillatix for the time being.

The other thing... where the hell did Tillatix get the plans for this? I've investigated the key and it's too complex for it to have been just thrown together at a moments notice. As well, I've researched what limited information we have about her home world and species... and this isn't exactly common there either. I have a sinking feeling about this and I will have to investigate this as carefully as I can.

As for the XO... against my own better judgement I've decided to shadow him for a while. The Commander was right in keeping the matter discreet so as not to interfere with his position in the chain of command. That being said, there is no way that I could get him into the brig quietly for any period of time without rumours flying about. I am going to assign him a security personnel for OJT, that will keep everything discreet and under control without harming the man's reputation.

I can't believe I just said that. He threatened an officer and I'm 'worried about his reputation'. He should be worried about my fist meeting his face. There's too much damn politicking when you're an officer. Give me a rifle and just point me in a direction any day of the week as opposed to this bullshit. I don't know if it's the pips themselves or everything that comes with being a 'Chief of Security', but now there are so many hoops to jump through I feel like I'm in a bloody circus.

Anyways... I'm going to meet with Tillatix. She doesn't deserve to be the one punished for this. Let's see if the Commander is as quick to forgive the CAG and the 2nd officer as he is for the XO. Major Johnson did mention that maybe my pips could save some trouble. Let's see if that theory holds out.
