"Computer, begin log."

"Seated in the XO's office (not used to calling it my office quite yet), I was working on my after action report for the captain. After the dry facts, I was unable to figure out what to put in it. I decided to put in my impressions of the away team's performance; I was most impressed by Lieutenant Walker's knowledge and efficiency. I envied his calmness even in the face of battle. I would have to have a little talk with the good lieutenant in the near future.

"I would also like to acknowledge Lieutenant Zitla and Doctor Miller's performance. They were able to achieve their target objective. My team was able to pierce the bridge and Ensign Kalandra was able to pull some of the ships' files on their then-current mission. She told me that she would have the data decoded within 3 hours. Now that was efficiency.

"Lastly, I feel that I should put this in my log. Ever since I was taken to Sickbay, I have felt a little 'out of sorts'. I am not too sure what is happening to me but I seem to have developed a form of empathic ability. I know this may sound a tad enigmatic to some but I'm not sure how to put it. I have been experiencing other peoples' feelings and emotion. I think it is the result of the Niga Incident. What this means, I am unsure. But with the help of the Vulcan nurse in Sickbay, I hope to tame the beast as it were."
