Captains Log (Plot Summary)

Posted on Sunday 1 July 2018 @ 16:41 by Captain John "Apollo" Barstow, M.D.

317 words; about a 2 minute read

John wiped off the seat of his chair in his quarters on Merlin and dropped into his chair, looking around the dimly lit room with a sigh. The last 24 hours had proven strange to say the least, "computer, begin Captains log," he ordered and the computer whirled before it gave him a fizzling sound, "computer, begin Captains log," he ordered again and rubbed his face, this time the computer beeped ready.

"Capain's log, stadate ..... computer, add stardate later. After a lot of work we have found the Merlin intact, though not in space, instead, it was on a sea bed. Myself, a few of my former command staff and a team from the USS Grissom have worked the last forty eight hours on repairs and getting her back into space. While this sounds easy we hit a few....snags," he replied and sat forward, leaning on his desk, "first, we found the ship nearly abanded, save for two people in stasis, Lieutenant Commander Tillatix and my daughter.

Doctor's Ki and O'Rielly acted quickly and got them safly to Grissom. They were woken and seem in good spirits for what they've been through. I plan to interview the Commander about what happened later. Another puzzling thing we found is that the systems on the ship show age of about two hundred years! On top of that I am seeing evidence of crew misplaced in time, though I can't be sure yet, I plan to ask the Docs to run a DNA cross reference and compare crew medical records with the historical database. The whole thing gives me a headache, especially since I know Temporal Investigations will be so far up my six I wont need a dental checkup after I file this log.

I am calling a briefing in the next hour. Computer, end log."
