Personal Log :: SD 239406.11 - 16:00 hrs ...

Following our return from the derelict, now confirmed to be the USS Merlin ... 'Our Merlin' ... Shortly before a self-destruct was accidentally activated, unfortunately resulting in loss of life, I had been suffering from, hallucinations, for want of a better explanation, though in my mind I felt I had been 'seeing' our own crew, dead, and roaming the ghost vessel. Yes, I know this is something approaching certification, but as I am now not the only one experiencing these 'visions' I was allowed to return to duty.

On another note:

Mackenzie has gone to the holo-deck for her latest flying lesson with Commander Jones, I can't thank the Exec' enough for taking time out of her busy schedule, devoting it to my six year old, who admittedly appears much older, and far more intelligent, than her years. She comes home after every lesson practically bursting with news, telling us everything that happened in sometimes excruciatingly precise detail. she always makes sure to involve her younger sister Mia in the conversations, patiently answering her questions ... I had thought Kenzie would have allowed her flying lessons to take precedence over her school work, but I couldn't have been more wrong as she comes home and makes sure any revision or homework is done 'before' lessons, and going off her report she is doing extremely well, despite the 'disadvantage' (as she calls it) of having a head of School who is also your mother ...

OK, lastly:

I was summoned to the Captain's Ready Room today by Commander Jones, where I was informed I had received a promotion to Lieutenant Commander. It was unexpected but gratefully received ...
