Jones came in having never simmer before, however, that did not deter him. Since joining Jones' logs have been great to read. Along with quantity, Jones is among the top 3 posters, he also maintains the quality.

This is a crew wide award. I set a goal of posting 80 quality logs by the time I have to file my report on 31 July and the crew of Merlin has not only met that goal but have risen very comfortably above it, and in just week since the goal was set. Very well done, I'm proud and excited to be simming with you guys!

USS Merlin, TF72
I am beyond proud to nominate the USS Merlin for the award this month. Once again, they have shown what a crew working together can achieve. Earlier in the month, the Commanding Officer was appointed as Senior Ship Commanding Officer, but that didn’t stop him from posting, and being even more active, taking a great approach to talk to the Commanding Officers in the Task Group to get some ideas flowing and most of the Commanding Officers have really appreciated the extra set of eyes on their website and what they are doing. On the USS Merlin, he challenged his crew to reach 90 “quality” posts over the month, and even with a bandwidth issue and a change of website, they were still able to not just reach that goal (with time to spare), but even that didn’t stop them, reaching 98 posts, and I took the time to read some of those posts, and they are of the best quality, they aren’t just a couple of one-liners to post out to boost the numbers, they are pure quality writing from crewmember after crewmember, and a lot of them are joint posts, showing me that this crew has a sense of family, respect and most importantly; teamwork. They are the epitome of what we should all be looking at for our simulations, and they should all be proud of what they have achieved in four short months that they have been part of Obsidian Fleet! Well done USS Merlin crew!

I'm in agreement with everything the XO has said below. Melody has taken to the sim and her position as the second officer seamlessly. She has helped to direct 2 battle logs while also keeping helm and the ship moving.

(XO Citation) Melody has been an outstanding character both on and off duty. I've been impressed how well someone whose first sim has picked up and ran with the Second Officer position. She's just been an outstanding officer and a good friend to many of us.

The USS Merlin has been an oak for TG72B during the transition of a new TGCO coming in. Captain Barstow has managed to keep up with his duties as SSCO and still motivate his crew to put up great numbers and quality posts. I have been impressed with the resilience of Captain Barstow and his crew. Keep up the great work!

Nominated by Lieutenant Commander David Tan
I am nominating Lt Commander Jones for this award due to her interaction with David Tan, his wife Lana, and especially his two Children, four year old Mia, and six year old Mackenzie ... Over several joint posts she has enthusiastically interacted with the Tan Family but in my humble opinion is forming a close and caring relationship with Mia and Mackenzie.

Her suggestion to continue the relationship with the girls, and more so Mackenzie, guiding her as she grows, is I believe, Melody's heartfelt wish to form a long-lasting bond with the girls. One which I fully intend to participate in to the best of my ability.

Regards,

Lieutenant David Tan.
