ON:

Melody walked into the security office hoping to find Lieutenant Scarlet there. She and David need to talk about his feeling towards her and the possibly of feeling towards Save'ena. The fact the she was in Save'ena's body was going to make this an........ interesting conversation. She did not know if David had heard about the transporter accident, but she had the feeling that he hadn't.

To her disappointment, the room was empty.

She raised her voice "Computer, locate Lieutenant Scarlet"

The computer replied "Lieutenant Scarlet is on deck 2, section 42 alpha."

Melody's eyes went wide "My quarters!....... Oh Boy!"

And with that she turned and hurried out of the room.

Meanwhile Scarlet stood at the doorway to Melody's quarters. His hands trembled and that scared him more than he cared to let on. As soon as he had heard about the incident, he almost dropped everything right away.

All he knew now was that Melody was safe. And that somewhere he'd stopped pretending that he cared for her and became genuine.

Sav heard the door chime. It felt weird, being in Melody's quarters as Melody, but Caroline had wanted both to keep things at a semblance of normal for the crew until she figured out how to reverse what had been done. So, she went to the door and hit the open button, her mouth partway open with a "Come in."

As soon as the door opened he wrapped her in a close embrace before pressing his lips against hers. "I am so relieved that you're safe!"

Upon the sudden embrace, Sav flexed her arm muscles to extend her claws for protection, but nothing happened. The Kiss upon her lips caused her to freeze. She had not been kissed by a boy since a couple of dates in college, and since the dungeon, only Katerina, and Melody, had kissed her. She tried to wrap her mind over what was happening as it dawned on her that it was David Scarlet holding her, kissing her, no, not her, Melody. She worked on unfreezing herself.

Scarlet felt her begin to move away and released his hold. "I'm sorry... there is a few things I need to explain."

Sav managed a nod, "You.. just surprised me. It's not everyday you get jumped and kissed upon when opening a door. Please, come in."

"Thanks, like I said, I'm happy you're safe. I heard there was an accident."

Sav brought Scarlett to the couch, then gently sat him down, saying, "Please, sit." She smiled as she sat beside him, blushing, as she said, "You kiss nice... you really care." Her ears moved a touch as she smiled with a crinkled nose. She wondered if she should tell David what happened first, or ask him about herself. Deciding on a course of action, especially as she was hoping to date him also in the near future, she asked, "David, please, what is your honest opinion of Save'ena? I, just need to know as we are very close."

Scarlet was a little taken aback by Melodys demeanor and the seemingly randomness of her question. "I heard she was involved in the accident as well, she is ok isn't she?"

Sav nodded, trying to figure out how to break it to David that they had switched psyches. Well, she would do so, right after hearing about herself. She said, "Yes, she is, mostly. The incident is still being looked into." She leaned closer, trying to be friendly like Melody would, yet, not wanting to go to far as she was actually Sav. "So, do you have an answer about Sav?"

"Well, first impression wasn't good for either of you. But after learning more about her, she seems a bit sensitive but a good soul."

Sav closed her eyes and nodded, barely keeping tears back. That was more than she deserved, and she was glad David was taking into account her past and what had happened to her. She tried to churr, but it came out as an hrmmm from her throat. She opened her eyes, saying, "Good, you understand what happened, it wasn't me, and are taking it into account."

"I knew it wasn't you. I was the one trying to get you out of my brig remember?" Scarlet replied with a somewhat warm smile.

Sav took a moment to compose herself, then said, "David, I am glad you're sitting down. You see, the incident.. it, umm, changed our psyches around." She scrunched up her face as she took a breath, then said in a voice with its tonals going lower to higher, apologetic and questioning, with hope mixed in. "I'm.. really Sav trapped in Melody's body right now?"

Suddenly, Melody burst through the door and came to a halt seeing Save'ena and David sat very close on the sofa.

"Save'ena! David! I think there is something we need to talk about."

Scarlet was silent for a long moment. He looked down at his trembling hands and felt the heat rising in his face. Embarrassment, like a child. Wordlessly, he stood up and walked over to not Sav. Melody is Sav's body.

Melody also blushed "David I......... I....... was looking for you.......... to explain what happened......"

"I'm glad you're ok." Scarlet said after a moment, reaching out for her hands. "You have come to mean a lot to me Melody."

Tears were starting to run down Melody's face, matting her fur. "Damn, I'm not usually this emotional."

She took Scarlett's hands in hers, and took several deep breaths to steady herself. "You seem to be taking this rather well. I know I'm still adjusting to this myself." She looked over at Save'ena. "I take it you and Sav were just......... getting some things out in the open?"

Sav smiled and nodded enthusiastically, saying, "Yes, I had just informed him about our psyches being reversed." She now giggled and blushed a little further, "Melody, he kisses very nicely, there is real caring in that kiss. He's a keeper."

Melody looked at David with deep affection. "You've come to mean a lot to me to but you have to realize that me and Sav'ena also have.......... a special bond."

He didn't handle embarrassment well, especially when it was his own fault. Scarlet didn't know what was worse, that he had taken the leap and stumbled, or that he'd been blind to their relationship. "I... apologize." He looked down at the hands holding his own. They were Sav's hands, yet the touch was so familiar it could only be Melody. "I should not have put either of you in this awkward position."

Melody slipped her arms around David and tried to draw him a bit closer. "You don't have to apologise at all David. Me and Save'ena have been talking. What you and I have......... what we could have together is something I want to explore. At first, I wasn't sure if you were just putting on a show for our....... uninvited watcher. As time passed, it come to be something real and I believe could lead to something more......"

David just gritted his teeth and let out a long sigh. "I... I don't know. There is a lot I need to process..."

Melody looked at Save'ena "Have you had chance to explain how....... these relationships work?"

Sav shook her head and said, "No I haven't, no time yet." She stood up and moved over to be near David and Melody. "David, please listen. Melody and I are doing our relationship in the Mephetian way and culture. It is ummmm... similar to Arabic or Mormon way of family and wives. Do you know of them?"

David took another deep breath. "Polygamous relationships, I'm aware of them." He scratched the back of his head. It was a lot to process. He knew how he felt about Melody and while he would be the first to admit his feelings about Save'ena had changed significantly since their first encounter, he hadn't really spent much time around her or even really considered her a romantic option.

Sav perked up at hearing this. That he had heard of them meant later on, the explanations about how it works were in the family protocols and placements of wives and not the fact that there could be several.

"I think you and David need to go out on date now and see how you get along, and since Save'ena looks like me at the moment, that should make things easier no?" Melody suggested.

He couldn't help but chuckle. Easier might not have been the words he used. He took a lingering look at Melody in Save'enas body and then looked to Save'ena in Melody's body. "Ok, we can give this a try."

Sav raised an eyebrow, then said, "Okay, I am willing to give it a try as well, but, it might be better to first take Melody out on a date as she is in my body. I konw there has to be a physical attraction before the emotional and personal can be pursued. David, I am not a Terran. Well, I am now, but my body isn't. Are you a attracted, any at all, to my body's shape and form?" Sav barely got the question out as she realized what she just asked. Six years of staying away from relationships, but now, with her healing... she could start to dare hope again.

Scarlet took a long look at Melody, studying her form as he'd study an enemy combatant. Finally, realizing he was being ridiculous in a ridiculous situation. He could really only chuckle at how things had ended up turning out.

Sav watched first with interest, then some trepidation as it was HER body he was studying, and she wasn't even in it to protect it. She knew he had to consider all aspects of her, including sexual, for possible marriage, but that didn't stop her from feeling vulnerable.

"Well," He said finally. "The tail would take some getting used too..." Looking once more at Melody he shrugged. "And well, I guess I owe you this..."

Before she could react, Scarlet pulled Melody in and kissed her firmly on lips that weren't really hers. When he pulled back he looked back and forth between both women. "Well, I already kissed the wrong one I might as well kiss the right one."

The kiss, while familiar was somewhat different. But Melody enjoyed it all the same. "I've already been treated to dinner so it's your turn now. Plus it gives David a chance to concentrate on your personality."

Sav blushed even as she was pleased. David enjoyed kissing Melody/her, even though having a muzzle and not a 'flat' face. She nodded to Melody and said, "I would like that, being treated to a dinner and conversation."

Melody smiled "Its settled then. I look forward to hearing all about it."

Sav laughed as she moved over to wrap her arm around David's left as he still held Melody/Sav's Body before him. She reached over and gave him a peck on his cheek, then said, "I miss my tail, and my churs, and my senses." She hrmphed out, then continued, "So, David, when you hear me 'hrmm', translate that to churring and being happy and not a slight against you, alright?"

David could only nod. This would be a unique and... different experience for him. "I guess dinner it is then, is there anything you prefer?"

Sav snickered in light humor, "Well, I am a typical mammalian omnivore, as in I do love a good Shepherds Pie, but as I am in Melody's body, what meal does she like? I wouldn't mind, and this is more for us to learn about each other, yes?" She leaned more into David, putting her other arm around his waist and giving him a needed felt hug.

"Yes Save'ena." David replied, gently hugging the woman back. "I would guess there's a lot we will have to learn."
