Commander Bayushi Personal Log 001

The Merlin finally underway, Kachiko had time to stop and do nothing. She knew that she should keep a log of things. If anything, she could be killed at any time and thought that maybe these logs could be therapeutic for Reiko in the event of her passing.

"Computer, begin personal log, Bayushi Kachiko, Commander, Starfleet. Executive Officer, USS Merlin."

After the chime, the spritely white haired woman started pacing slowly across the expanse of the mostly empty quarters, "Well, here we are. We just recovered the Merlin and are enroute to Starbase Three Oh Six at Warp Three. I can't discuss details, for obvious reasons, but here we are."

"Commander Kilbane was called away in advance of our arrival at the Merlin herself. Once the vessel was recovered and about to depart her resting place, Commander Barstow requested that I return to my Fleet commission of Com and take on the duties of the Merlin's Executive Officer, to which I have agreed," Kachiko sighed as she turned about again and resumed pacing to the other side of her quarters.

"I have sent directions to Earth for Rita to board my personal Runabout, the Hiei,pick Reiko up and meet us at Three Oh Six," Kachiko smiled. "I have missed my little girl, whose not so little any longer."

She silently mused a moment, thinking about how Reiko was about her own height now. Then again, Kachiko was an inch under five feet.

"I was pleased to find that I will be serving with my favorite Cadet from when I was working for Vice-Admiral Chen at the Academy. Save'ena Tillatix is a very strange yet sweet young lady, whom I am sure that Reiko just adore," Kachiko chuckled audibly. "Speaking of Reiko, the Captain has a daughter, an adorable little redheaded girl named Sierra. Just the cutest thing. I bet that Reiko will be ecstatic to have another kid aboard to spend time with. Especially considering how much crap the kids on Earth gave her."

"These logs are for you, ReiRei," Kachiko said. "You have lost too much time with me, so I'm recording these so that you will eventually know your mother in a way that I can't let you know yet. This is just the first and an introduction. I love you, sweetie."

"Computer, end log, save and file in Bayushi Directory Six, Entry Zero Zero One, encrypt Bayushi Lima Three Three Seven November Zero Zero Bravo."
